We have been supporting the young soprano Sara Magenta Schneyer through the promotion of concert engagements since December 2014, when she won our Foundation’s special prize at the national singing
competition Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin. This funding is mainly aimed at the performance of cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach. The special prize has helped fund concerts with the young singer in Berlin, Alsfeld, Hamburg and the Thomaskirche (St. Thomas Church) in Leipzig, as well as in Wrocław (Poland) and Paris. In October 2018 Sara Magenta Schneyer will be performing at the 93rd Bach Festival of the Neue Bachgesellschaft e.V. in Tübingen.
Concert organisers who are interested in booking the singer for a concert featuring the vocal music of Bach can apply to our Foundation for funding to cover the professional fee, as well as travel and accommodation expenses. The total prize amount of €5,000 is now nearly exhausted; the remaining funds would be sufficient for one or possibly two further concerts.
Interested organisers can contact us by 31/12/2016 to apply for funding. The concerts can be scheduled for any time within the next two years, but the concert plan and date must be fixed at the time of application.
